Helyn (my first wife who I am still friends with) and I spent our honeymoon there at Limekiln in June 1971. What a glorious spot - and what amazing experiences we had there. Your description of the languorous lovemaking in that patch reminded me of how at Limekiln, I got objective proof I am not allergic to poison oak, when I accidentally wiped my butt with some and didn't get a horrible rash in a sensitive area.
I camped at Limekiln with my late wife Sandy soon after I'd moved to Berkeley in June of 1977 to be with her. I knew of Big Sur from reading Brautigan's novel; as a Rocky Mountain boy, I remember being completely enthralled by the magnificent coastal forest with it's big trees.
There is a beautiful sense of time travel in what you've written. Some of the places I've been to, and have a fluid memory of those days and people. You have a wonderful gift of imagery. Thank you bringing back a journey when the innocence of the days blended into the nights, and for that, years later, we can reflect with a smile.

Great tale! Yes, the Poison Oak. Everywhere!
I love Limekiln, such a beautiful spot, even now.

Coming from Colorado, it was epiphany.
